On Saturday February 19, 2011 Torrin completed his first test in Tae Kwon Do. I did the best I could with video. Given several factors, namely, that I had been up for 20+ hours after a night shift and that certain persons continually decided to get right in my way, I think I caught the gist of things fairly well!

When the semester started, I was throttled into a heap of conceptual topics in programming, mathematics and physics. The semester started a few days earlier than I had originally thought, which would haunt me to the end with a feeling of being behind.
The stress proved strong enough to encourage errors on my part – barely making assignment deadlines only to turn in the wrong assignment or even forgetting assignments outright – precious points towards grades which would have very real affects on my academic career.

Fin.
That’s what the semester has finally come to – the end. I am waiting patiently for my grades to be completed, but I don’t need my grades to figure out how I feel about the semester as it was.

Blogging was only a beginning trend the first go around I had. Much like any new toy, I didn’t want to read the instructions, understand how the thing worked, or pay attention to the rules of safety before beginning. I just wanted to play with a new toy and publish any squirt of a thought that came to mind.
I furthered this obsession by attempting to co-opt my entire family into the act, which met with mixed responses. I’ve been content to monitor the beautiful unfolding of Sci-Fi’s Battlestar Galactica series from the comfort of the couch of my own thoughts. After all, RDM and crew (read writers) have done a wonderful job of keeping the series less than predictable and always a step ahead of ridiculous.
But, as the series rockets into the final few hours and episodes, the desire to pontificate has circumscribed my desire for a cozy couch of thoughts as I have started to drink my own punch. The final straw was the mentioning of Daniel, which had the wonderful effect of culling a group-think response to who Daniel must now be.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but all this web technology (webology?) has hardly added up to the ominous level of cool I was promised a long time ago.
I think most of us bought into e-mail, chat, online banking and shopping. Those are great features, but they’ve been around for a long time. YouTube has entertained some of us with a laundry list of shorts in the style of Jackass, but entertainment has been a little lacking since the day Napster died and went to pay service hell.
iTunes music store at least made the idea of paying for music simple and addictive again. But what I liked about Napster was the ability to discover new music.

**So, we were just having a good time
We left for KCI Airport at 4 am with bleary eyes and an ache for sleep; only the hopes of sunny skies and blue Caribbean waters motivating us towards the bliss that is the airport.
